The ninth-generation Corvette (C9) is in development and is expected to debut in 2028 as a 2029 model year vehicle. It will continue to be powered by internal combustion engines, distinguishing it from the upcoming all-electric Corvette models.
The C9 will be built on a revised version of the GM Y2 platform, which currently underpins the C8 Corvette. Production is expected to continue at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Kentucky.
While specific design details have not been finalized, GM has been showcasing various Corvette concepts from its global design studios, including a recent electric concept from its UK studio. These concepts aim to gather feedback and influence the final design of the C9.
In the meantime, the current C8 generation continues to evolve, with recent additions like the hybrid E-Ray and the high-performance ZR1.
