Title: Rebuilt/Salvage (Bought as salvaged then restored into a track corvette, Fully sorted and developed since 2019)
Overview
Up for sale is a turnkey, highly reliable C6 track tool. This car has been under continuous development since 2019 to withstand heavy lateral loads and thermal stress at America’s premier road courses. It is fully sorted and highly capable, running a 1:21.8 pace at Blackhawk Farms (BHF) in the advanced group and a 2:46.8 at Road America (RA) with the kink closed on track days. There is plenty of room left in the car to drop those times even lower with a more committed driver or sub-200 TW tires.
The safety and interior setups were specifically chosen to lock you into the seat for cornering stability while maximizing protection. The factory airbags remain fully active, giving you the best of both worlds.
The car makes 434 rwhp on a Mustang Dyno (up from 360 stock). Tuned flawlessly by Nate at Capital City Performance near Madison on 91 pump gas.
Note: This car is catless and the rear O2 sensors are deleted. It currently wears blue Wisconsin Collector plates. It needs to go to a buyer in an area without strict emissions testing.
Safety & Interior
· Harness Bar: Vette Works Shark Bar installed to ensure proper harness shoulder strap routing.
· Driver Harness: 5-point racing harness installed on the driver’s side to eliminate torso movement and maximize seat stability in high-G corners. I use a HANS device, as should anyone who uses a 5 point restraint for neck safety reasons.
· Dual-Purpose Setup: The 5-point harness can be cleanly stowed behind the seat, leaving the factory 3-point seat belts fully usable for comfortable street driving.
· Active Safety: All factory airbags remain completely active and operational alongside the harness setup for maximum track safety.
Known Quirks & Track Car Limitations
· Fuel Filler Neck: A plastic fuel jug neck broke off inside the filler neck. Because of this, you must fill up slowly at standard commercial gas pumps. It fills up perfectly fine at standard speed if you use VP Racing 5-gallon canisters at the track.
· Hood Latch: The right hood latch requires you to manually click/reset the latch backward before slamming the hood to get it to fully close and lock.
· The “Reverse Parking” Rule: Like all manual 2005 Corvettes, the car’s computer must register it is parked in Reverse when shutting it down. If you do not leave it in reverse, the modules will not completely shut down, causing a slow battery drain.
· Accusump, needs to be turned on or off under the hood when starting or stopping the engine respectively, this pre-lubes the crankcase with 40 psi of oil and eliminates dry-start wear and tear as a bonus.
Powertrain & Cooling (Built for Endurance)
· Engine: 6.0L LS2. Top-end built in 2024; lower end completely rebuilt in 2025. Exactly 1,000 street break-in miles and 1/2 rainy track day since the bottom-end refresh.
· Valvetrain/Heads: Texas Speed Torquer V2 Cam, Texas Speed ported heads, FAST intake manifold.
· Exhaust: OBX Headers, catless mid-pipe, Corsa Touring exhaust system (eliminated road drone)
· Reliability: New racing harmonic balancer installed during rebuild of the engine. New Melling oil pump as well.
· Oiling System: Accusump 3L oil accumulator (9L total system capacity) to eliminate high-g pressure drops in corners.
· Cooling: Upgraded DeWitt’s high-performance fans, new OEM radiator (2021), dedicated 3x larger than ZO6 stock oil cooler is intalled, and a dedicated power steering cooler. Runs exclusively on Valvoline Full Synthetic 20W-50 VR1 Racing Oil. Transmission with stock Z51 cooling system functional as well.
Drivetrain & Suspension
Transmission: Stock manual T56 with an MGW short-throw shifter.
Rear Differential: Upgraded to a C6 Z06 rear differential (replaces the notoriously weak/thin 2005 base steel housing that cracks under track duty).
Dampers/Sway Bars: Bilstein B6 shocks on all four corners. C6 Z06 rear sway bar.
Chassis Setup: Lowered all the way on factory stock bolts.
Hardware Bulletproofing: Upgraded, hardened ASP front shock lower bolts (replaced after shearing factory bolts on the aggressive apex curbs at Road America).
Brakes & Fluids
Front Brakes: Wilwood “Big Aero 6” 6-piston big brake kit with custom front brake cooling ducts.
Rear Brakes: Stock 2005 base Z51 rear calipers with stock rear cooling ducts.
Fluid: Fresh Castrol SRF racing brake fluid throughout.
Spares/Pads Included:
Front: 1 new set of track-focused BP-40s, 2 new sets of street-focused BP-10s, and BP-30s.
Rear: Hawk DTC-30s currently installed, plus 1 brand-new spare set of DTC-30s on hand.
Two Complete Wheel & Tire Sets Included
Track Setup: 1 track day on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect (240 TW) mounted on dedicated track wheels.
Rain/Cold Setup: Michelin Pilot Sport 4 All-Season (PS4AS) tires mounted on a separate set of factory wheels.
Note: The steering wheel angle sensor is deliberately unplugged to permanently disable traction control while reliably retaining full ABS functionality.
Condition & Logistics
Cosmetically, it is a track car, but structurally and mechanically it is incredibly solid and dialed in. Over $50k has been invested in development and parts, but it is priced realistically for a quick sale to a fellow track enthusiast who understands what it takes to make a C6 reliable on road courses.
Clear WI title in hand (noted as rebuilt).
